What Every Joint Supplies

Finances in the Body of Christ

We believe that because we work for the Lord Jesus Christ, He will provide all of our needs. The Lord will finance the gifts given to us and there is never any pressure or manipulation to raise funds or offerings for our goals and purpose.

What we ask the Lord for is faithful people who give cheerfully as the Lord leads to their brother and sister in Christ.  If the Lord speaks to you about giving to this ministry; then your obedience is encouraged, but that question is between you and the Lord.

Whether you are led to give or not; I pray for your obedience to Jesus Christ in the Spirit; as scripture says that "...if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:15) and scripture also says "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

So then we stand with you rejoicing in your obedience.

Having said this though; let me depart from what is normally placed before Gods people.  There are people in need throughout the body of Christ and while the needs of this ministry are ongoing; we know that God is not a respecter of persons.  Because of this; I am compelled to ask in Christ... 'Who am I that the critical needs of this ministry  should outweigh the critical needs of others in the body of Christ?

The scripture says in 2 Corinthians 9:10  "Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness..."

Beyond there being someone deserving of your support for a number of reasons; the "multiplying of the seed" in the above scripture will still come to pass, and Glory to God... you do not have to sow into this ministry for this to be true...

I do not agree with the 100 fold seed sowing manipulation of scripture you see on Television or the fear they plant in people's hearts concerning being under a curse if they don't give; especially since Galatians 3:13a says that "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us..."

With all the hirelings and charlatans who have robbed the body of Christ and devoured widow’s houses with a false tithing message; I have become convinced that the worst thing to happen as a result of all this is for people to stop giving cheerfully.

As I was writing to someone recently I came to understand something I hadn't been able to put into words... And that is how critically important it is that the body of Christ become givers again while it is still day… because the night is coming when no man can work…

As we are approaching a time of economic chaos in these last days people in the body are being given over to a sense of uncertainty and fear.

What I am trying to say to you about giving then is that it has as much if not more to do with the giver getting over their fear of lack, than it has to do with the recipient of a gift having a need...

Paul in sharing the words of Christ with the Ephesian elders said basically the same thing...  "And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’"

With this in mind; give cheerfully according to YOUR ability to give.

Concerning this Ministry's Needs

We are simply overcomers as the Word of the Lord says that " the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

By His grace alone we stand and will continue in the things that He has placed in our hand to accomplish...

While some may view this as grandstanding; let me just take a moment and TESTIFY that in the midst of what some would consider debilitating lack and the name it claim it prosperity crowd might even call a 'curse'... The triumph of Christ is clear...

The overriding vision of Shilohouse is simply to serve as an under oarsman helping the body of Christ transition towards needed reformation in light of the time we are living in.

As we press in to the Lord's purposes we simply believe that according to Hebrews 10:38 that "the just shall live by faith" and according to Revelation 12:11 we overcome "by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of (our) testimony, and (we do not love our) lives to the death."

At this point in the midst of the battle; we dare not take our hands off the plow and look back.

If you after reading this are in a typical situation with a little extra cash from time to time then I again stress do not let the needs expressed for this ministry override what the Holy Spirit may speak directly to concerning another ministry, a particular widow, or any single mother with fatherless children.  We have entered into the rest of the Lord on these things and are at peace with what the Lord brings and want to simply encourage you towards biblical cheerful giving.

A Final Word on Giving

In closing out this section on giving; consider this last admonition as from the Lord.

In these last days as the Accuser of the Brethren operates in deception in the midst of the earth; he will continually try to visit the Lord's children with a spirit of fear.  2 Timothy 1:7 says "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

In the sojourn of Israel through the wilderness the Lord instructed in Exodus 16 that the children of Israel should only gather the amount of manna needed for the day and to gather twice that amount the day before the Sabbath.  In the story some gathered more than needed holding on to it until the next day; (I believe out of fear of lack). As a result of holding onto part of it until the next morning the manna "bred worms and stank."

In this I believe is a warning to the body of Christ not to hold onto provision out of fear; but instead to be courageous and trust in the Lord like the widow of Zarephath who the Prophet Elijah spoke to in 1 Kings 17.  As she was obedient to what Elijah instructed "the bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke by Elijah."

I see purposeful instruction in the Word of God that the last three and a half years of the tribulation is the same amount of time that the drought lasted and the widow's oil and flour remained.
