Finances in the Body of Christ
We believe that because we work for the Lord
Jesus Christ, He will provide all of our needs. The Lord will finance the
gifts given to us and there is never any
pressure or manipulation
to raise
funds or offerings for
our goals and purpose.
What we ask the Lord for is faithful people who give
cheerfully as the Lord leads to their brother and sister in Christ. If the Lord speaks to you about giving
to this
ministry; then your obedience is encouraged, but that question is
between you and the Lord.
Whether you are led to give or not; I pray for your obedience to Jesus
Christ in the
Spirit; as scripture says that "...if you are led by
the Spirit, you are not under the law.
(Galatians 5:15) and
scripture also says "For as many as are led by the
Spirit of God, these are sons of God."
So then we stand with
you rejoicing in your obedience.
Having said this though; let me depart
from what is normally placed before Gods people. There are
people in need throughout the body of Christ and while the needs of
this ministry are ongoing; we know that God is not a respecter of
persons. Because of this; I am compelled to ask in Christ...
'Who am I that the critical needs of this ministry should outweigh the
critical
needs of others in the body of Christ?
The scripture says in 2 Corinthians
9:10 "Now may He who supplies seed
to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you
have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness..."
Beyond there being someone
deserving of your support for a number of reasons; the
"multiplying
of the seed"
in the above scripture will still come to pass, and Glory to God... you do not have to
sow into this
ministry for this to be
true...
I do not agree with the 100 fold
seed sowing manipulation of scripture you see on Television or the
fear they plant in people's hearts concerning being under a curse if
they don't give; especially since Galatians 3:13a says that
"Christ has
redeemed
us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us..."
With all the hirelings and charlatans
who have robbed the body of Christ and devoured widow’s houses with a
false tithing message; I have
become convinced that the worst thing to happen as a result of all this is
for people to stop giving cheerfully.
As I was writing to someone recently I
came to understand something I hadn't been able to put into words...
And that is how critically important it is that the body of Christ
become givers again while it is still day… because the night is coming
when no man can work…
As we are approaching a time of
economic chaos in these last days people in the body are being given
over to a sense of uncertainty and fear.
What I am trying to say to you
about giving then is that it has as much if not more to do with
the giver getting over their
fear of lack, than it has to do with
the recipient of a gift having a need...
Paul in sharing the words of Christ
with the Ephesian elders said basically the same thing...
"And
remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said,
‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’"
With this in mind; the following link
leads to a small list of those who have need of what other members of
the body according to their ability
can give. While some will give and others receive; what this
truly is an opportunity for is to be "...joined and knit together by what
every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which
every part does its share..."
